This page explains how RV Power Tools handles the information and values you enter. Last updated October 4, 2026.

Calculator inputs

Calculator results are computed in your browser. Your device lists and calculation inputs are not sent to our server when you run a calculation, and you do not need an account to use the tools.

When you use a link from Daily Power Consumption to Battery Size, Solar Size, or System Checker, the DC and AC Wh/day totals are included in the link to the next calculator. That URL may appear in browser history and may be sent to the site and recorded in web server logs. If the offline service worker serves the page from its saved copy, that navigation does not need a server request. The device list itself is not included in that link.

Saved and shared setups

“Save on this device” stores one setup in this browser's local storage. You can delete it from the Setup page or by clearing browser data. It is not synced to another device. Compatible calculators use the saved setup only when you choose “Replace inputs from saved setup”; changing or undoing calculator inputs does not overwrite it.

A share link or a link from Setup to a compatible calculator contains the setup values, including its name and notes, in the part of the URL after #setup=. That part of the URL is not sent in the normal HTTP request to this site's server. Anyone who receives the full link can read the values, and the service you use to share the link may handle it under its own privacy practices. Do not put information in a setup that you would not want a link recipient to see.

Site operation and external links

Your browser may save copies of the public pages, calculator code, images and supporting files so the site can work offline. This offline cache does not store calculation inputs, query or share-link variants, or setup values. Setups you choose to save remain separately in local storage. You can remove it by clearing this site's browser data; doing so also removes any setup saved in local storage.

When you dismiss an offline notification, we use this tab’s session storage to remember the notification state and site version so the same notice does not reappear as you move between pages. This preference contains no calculator inputs or setup values and is not sent to our server. It lasts for the browser’s page session, including reloads; browser session restoration may preserve it. Clearing this site’s browser data removes it.

The site may use a session cookie to support basic operation. Our hosting infrastructure may record basic request details such as your IP address, time, browser information, and requested URL to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the site. The current site does not include advertising or analytics scripts.

Some pages link to external references. Those sites have their own privacy practices. This policy will be updated if RV Power Tools adds features or services that change how visitor data is handled.
